Piping systems for transportation of hydrocarbons like oil and gas are particularly vulnerable to natural hazards like earthquake, landslides and flooding.

TEA sistemi Spa and SAFEPLAN T srl developed a methodology of level 2 for the quantitative assessment of the risk of such an infrastructure. In particular a general methodology that employes the well-known performance based design/assessment approach, extensively used in seismic engineering for civil infrastructures. It is based on the synergic use of hazard and fragility curves through the total probability theorem. 

Specific approaches has been developed for Flooding, Landslides and Earthquake events. 

The methodology has been applied to some significant case studies for the validation of the procedure
